Leave Negativity at the Door in Family Law Proceedings

Bad-mouthing a client or gossiping about opposing counsel in a family law proceeding is a signal that you may be part of the problem instead of the solution, Toronto family lawyer Nathalie Boutet recently told attendants of Collaborative Practice Durham Region’s AGM event.

As the evening’s guest speaker, Boutet, who has a specialty in neuroscience as it relates to family law, discussed leadership skills and strategies.

Using neuroscience and other teachings, Boutet delved into topics including how humans respond to conflict; the debilitating impacts of strong emotions on the team; strategies to stay focused; and best practices for a healthy practice and successful teamwork.
