Family Therapy: When Divorce Strikes

Medical professionals are often “first-responders” to couples and families who may be going through a life-changing event such as separation and divorce. Doctors, nurses, psychotherapists, social workers and other mental health professionals can learn more about Family Law and alternative resources to better help their patients/clients through this transition.

Key Takeaways
Attendees will understand:

  • What legal process options are available for separating families, and their impact on mental health
  • What patients may encounter/can expect during the legal separation process
  • Is there a place for the voice of the child?
  • The importance of a multi-disciplinary approach to support separating families
